Good & Lousy Diaper Review

Diaper Review

Let’s do some diaper review and comparison because there are many diaper choices out there today, but which is the best or most suitable for you? Here are some of the brands we tried and we’re writing about our findings.

The main criteria we’re measuring is Lasting Hours (How long it can last) and Price / Diaper (Price per diaper). The price can vary depending on current promotions or where you’re buying it, but it should serve as a general guide as to how much one piece diaper will cost.

Diaper Comparison Details

Here’s a little more writeup for our diaper review based on each diaper brand. A side note, be aware that the size of each brand of diaper is different. For example, an L size diaper for Applecrumby is bigger than an L size Huggies diaper.

Applecrumby – Score 9/10

Great diaper, this is the premium brand among all the listed brands. It can last for more than 10 hours, so your baby can sleep through the night without needing to change. The material is soft, so your baby is going to feel comfortable wearing it; it is the most comfortable among all the brands shown here, really premium quality stuff. It is the most expensive diaper though.

Huggies – Score 6/10

This brand is the worst diaper among the list. From our experience it can only last between 3-5 hours, meaning for day use it’s ok, but you’ll have to change your baby’s diapers in the middle of the night. The only saving grace of this diaper is it is cheap.

MamyPoko Maxi Absorb / Extra Dry Skin – Score 6/10

Decent brand, for both the products. From what we hear, this is the favorite for many parents. Our main complaint is that it cannot last for more than 5 hours, and the need to change our baby’s diapers in the middle of the night is not something we appreciate.

PetPet Dry DayNight / Night – Score 7/10

Pretty good brand, we buy it when there’s a discount. It can last for more than 10 hours, so it’s a big plus for us. Not needing to change diapers in the middle of the night is awesome! The Night type diaper is thicker which can hold more volume, but the DayNight can last throughout the night as well. Cheap too, we use it often.

Tesco Fred & Flo – Score 8/10

Our personal favorite, and the main diaper we use for our boy. It lasts more than 10 hours, so no changing needed throughout the night! It is also the cheapest among the list! For every Applecrumby diaper you buy, you can get 3 of these! We can’t find any fault with this diaper; it is just right!

Top Value Disposable – Score 6/10

This is another good diaper. It lasts more than 10 hours! Again, not needing to change diapers in the middle of the night is a big plus! It seems to be in the same league as PetPet, but PetPet feels better quality-wise. Good! But we choose PetPet because they cost the same.

Final Thoughts

That’s it for our diaper review. Based on the two main criteria above (Lasting hours & Price), our top pick goes to Tesco Fred & Flo.

Another way to save on diapers is not to change it over frequently, but not too late either as it can cause skin issues for your baby. I’ve done my research and applied it to my son, and it works great! I’ve written an article on it here, check it out.
